Can Stefon Diggs produce as a number one wide receiver?

The Buffalo Bills made a big splash with the trade for Stefon Diggs and the assets they gave up they have to consider Diggs to be a top tier wide receiver in the NFL. However, Diggs has played in an offense that had another excellent wide receiver in Adam Thielen and there hasn’t been many instances that he has been asked to carry the load of the passing attack.

Even with sharing the passing targets with Thielen, Stefon Diggs was productive and had two straight years with over 1,000 yards. However, he is now coming into a brand new offense with a new quarterback that he will need to build a relationship with. He also will have to deal with additional attention from opposing defenses because John Brown isn’t the same threat as Adam Thielen.

Now this is not to say that Stefon Diggs isn’t capable of producing like a number one wide receiver in this offense. He is an excellent route runner and has incredible speed that allows him to get over the top of opposing defenses. The question lies, and this could be answered very early, is will Stefon Diggs step into that lead wider receiver role in this offense.
