Defensive End

The Buffalo Bills bolster the defensive end position this offseason with the free agent signing of Mario Addison and the selection of A.J. Epenesa in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. However, there is still room for improvement at this position.

One of the reasons is the fact even with Epenesa, the position group is still rather old with Jerry Hughes, Addison and Trent Murphy all being over 30 by season’s end. The team also could potentially be losing Murphy, who is entering his final year of his deal.

Similar to what the Bills did this year, it would make sense for the team to add another pass rusher through the NFL Draft. The defensive end is a premium position and while they still have Hughes and Addison under contract, it could give a younger player a chance to develop as a rookie versus being inserted into the starting lineup right from the start.
