Buffalo Bills: 8 players who should be added to the Wall of Fame
These are eight players that should be added to the Buffalo Bills Wall of Fame.
Once a player’s career is over, there are a few accolades that they hope to achieve once they call it quits. For most players, it is a spot in the Hall of Fame or having their number retired. However, the Buffalo Bills have another way to honor some of the greats to wear the uniform and that is with the Wall of Fame.
The Bills Wall of Fame can be seen by fans during every home game inside New Era Field and includes some greats like Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, Bruce Smith, Ralph Wilson Jr. and Marv Levy. According to the team’s site, players that are eligible are ones that are retired and played at least three seasons with the team. However, it also does include other key figures like coaches, owners and even broadcasters, with Van Miller being added in 2014.
Since it’s first induction in 1980, the Bills were adding one or two players on almost an annual basis however that has slowed with only two added since 2015, with Cookie Gilchrist in 2017 and Lou Saban in 2015.
If the selection committee is looking to add more in 2020, these are eight players that should be in the discussion.
