Buffalo Bills: Breaking down potential offensive formations in 2020
Remaining Personnel Groupings
There are 12 other personnel groupings that NFL teams utilize but the Buffalo Bills have not run most of these. This past season they only ran 37 total plays out of these additional 12 personnel groupings.
The one that was the most surprising, and this is one the Brian Daboll could use more this upcoming season, is four wide receiver sets either in the 1-0 or 0-1 personnel grouping. In 2019, the Bills only ran six plays with four wide receivers on the field.
Now that the Buffalo Bills have added Stefon Diggs, along with rookie wide receivers Gabriel Davis and Isaiah Hodgins, it would make sense for them to try to utilize their depth as much as possible.
It is hard to imagine that Brian Daboll swaying too far from what he has done the past two seasons but Bills fans should expect at least some new wrinkles thrown in with the talent they now have.
