Buffalo Bills: Breaking down potential offensive formations in 2020

If there is one formation that could see a significant bump in snaps entering 2020, it may be this one. The Buffalo Bills are likely going to try and get Zack Moss as much playing time in the backfield and this formation does that while not limiting Singletary’s snaps either.

This is not to say that this will become the team’s primary personnel grouping because it does keep Cole Beasley on the sideline but Brian Daboll could get creative with this personnel and create some mismatches.

One scenario would be to motion Singletary out of the backfield and line him up in the slot. If this is the personnel package in the huddle, the opposing defense will not be in nickel so this would leave either a linebacker to cover Singletary or bring a safety down to the line. Either way this would be a win for the Buffalo Bills.

Another possibility is that the Bills could run more of a traditional backfield and utilize Patrick DiMarco at fullback instead of Moss. However, there is no question the more dynamic backfield, and the one that creates the most possibilities, is using Singletary and Moss at the same time.
