3 former Buffalo Bills returning to New Era Field in 2020

Week 3 – Robert Woods (Los Angeles Rams)
It will be Week 3 of the regular season when the next former Buffalo Bill will make his way back for a visit. Although it was a down year in 2019 for the Rams, finishing with a record of 9-7, the chance to welcome a team of this caliber led by Sean McVay is a rare occasion. An old friend by the name of Robert Woods will be making the 2,533 mile trek eastward to Orchard Park where it will be three years since Woods stepped onto the field in Buffalo.
The Bills selected Robert Woods in the second round (41st pick) in the 2013 NFL Draft. Playing in 57 games, he finished his career in Buffalo with a stat line of 203 receptions for 2,451 yards and 12 touchdowns.
In 2017, the Los Angeles Rams were in dire need of some wide receiver help and they got one that was coming from Western New York. In what was an expected move, the Rams signed Robert Woods to a 5 year, $39 million deal who was heading home to California where he grew up and played his college days at USC.
Even though he will have Cooper Kupp and Tyler Higbee on the field, Jared Goff will do his best to make sure that Robert Woods’ return to Buffalo is a triumphant one. You can be sure that the Bills secondary and Bills Mafia will have something to say about that.
The last time these 2 teams met was back in 2016 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum with the Buffalo Bills winning that game 30-19. Robert Woods had a very quiet game tallying 2 receptions for 26 yards and no touchdowns.
