Starting defensive line
Jerry Hughes (DE), Star Lotulelei (DT), Ed Oliver (DT), Mario Addison (DE)
The Buffalo Bills won’t move much away from four defensive linemen throughout the season and this will likely be the starting line for the Bills defense.
This really shouldn’t be too much of a surprise as Jerry Hughes is the veteran of this defense and while he did have a down year, he has earned the first chance at the starting job. On the other end is Mario Addison, who the Bills added in the offseason. While he is 32 years of age, he has not shown any signs of slowing down with four straight seasons with nine or more sacks.
The defensive tackle position is a little bit more influx as Star Lotulelei will likely be pushed for the starting job by Harrison Phillips. However, similar to Hughes, he has been the team’s starter for a few years now and he should have the first chance to prove he can remain the starter.
The other defensive tackle position currently has Ed Oliver slated in there. He is expected to have a breakout year however there could be a suspension potentially looming due to a recent arrest. If Oliver is to miss any time, then it would likely be Vernon Butler to replace him at this position.
