Buffalo Bills: Ranking the wide receivers in the AFC East

3) New York Jets

Projected Starters: Denzel Mims, Breshad Perriman, Jamison Crowder

Behind a weak offensive line, Sam Darnold did not have much time to set up and get rid of the ball, getting sacked on a very consistent basis. To put things into perspective, Darnold was sacked 33 times last season making his grand total 63 for his young career. Not great numbers early on for teams that want a productive offense.

General manager Joe Douglas started fixing that issue by drafting the Louisville mountain prospect, Mekhi Becton. After solidifying one side of the line, the Jets ended up getting speedy wide receiver Denzel Mims in the second round out of Baylor. He has a lot of upside to him but he is raw and if he can learn the playbook faster than anticipated, he could be a bright spot for this team.

To finish off a productive offseason, Breshad Perriman was brought in from pass happy Tampa Bay to replace Robbie Anderson. Unfortunately, injuries have not given him the chance to show what he is fully capable of.

There are still a lot of question marks that remain for this offense. But this group is, by far, the most improved wide receiver corps in the division. Jets fans, no doubt, will have their eyes on Mims most of all because there is much to be expected of him. Having Jamison Crowder as the only returning starter from last season will provide some much needed veteran leadership. This can be a very exciting trio if Darnold can get them the ball.
