Buffalo Bills: 3 reasons to revisit trade idea for Yannick Ngakoue
Jaguars asking price could have dropped
One of the reasons that the Jacksonville Jaguars didn’t trade Yannick Ngakoue was that their asking price may have just been too high. As the NFL Draft approached, there was rumors that the Jaguars and the Las Vegas Raiders had been discussing a trade that would have sent the 19th overall pick to the Jaguars however Jacksonville wanted the 12th overall pick instead and a trade never came together.
Now that the NFL Draft has passed and the relationship between Ngakoue and the Jaguars at this point looks unrepairable, the Jaguars front office may be softening their trade demands. The last thing a franchise wants is to enter a season with a player who misses games by refusing to sign the franchise tag and the players in the locker room are asked questions about the situation.
GM Brandon Beane has not been afraid of making aggressive moves and this offseason traded the team’s first round pick, along with others, to acquire star wide receiver Stefon Diggs. While he would likely be hesitant to trade a first round pick in consecutive years, this team is expected to be picking in the later half of the round.
While it will certainly be a gamble, the Buffalo Bills would be getting one of the best young pass rushers in the NFL and those are usually not found at that point in the NFL Draft.
