Reduce Turnovers
This is an area that Josh Allen actually did improve on over the course of last season. He started the year with seven interceptions over the first four games of the year. However, in the final 12 games of the season, he only had two.
For Josh Allen, it isn’t only interceptions that he needs to improve but also fumbles. This past season he had 14 fumbles with five in the first four games as well but had nine over the last 12 games.
The good news for Josh Allen was that of those 14 fumbles, the Bills only lost four of them. This is a bit of a silver lining but he also can’t expect that to always be the case.
The MVP award has been won by quarterbacks the past seven years and in this group only two had 12 or more turnovers, with both Patrick Mahomes and Cam Newton winning the award with 14 total turnovers. There is no question that minimizing turnovers will be key if Josh Allen hopes to have an MVP-type season.
