3./2. Garrett Taylor and Josh Thomas

The next two players on this list is safeties Garrett Taylor and Josh Thomas mainly because they appear to be almost the same player, and they will likely be competing to fill the same role. Garrett Taylor was a safety for Penn State and Josh Thomas was a safety for Appalachian State and both are 6’0″ with Thomas only two pounds heavier at 205 pounds to Taylor at 203 pounds.

These are two safeties that produced high tackle totals with Thomas finishing with 163 total tackles and Taylor registering 169 total tackles. It is certainly hard to decipher the two players and these two are likely going to be competing for the same spot.

The Buffalo Bills were looking for a big safety during the NFL Draft in hopes to fill the Buffalo Nickel role. This is a key position in Sean McDermott‘s defense and while the team has used Siran Neal and Dean Marlowe in the past, McDermott clearly is hoping for another player to step up.

These two players are going to have a big learning curve with the lack of on-field practice time but it wouldn’t be surprising if one of them made the final 53-man roster.
