Kansas City Chiefs

This will likely be the game that defines the Bills’ season. Buffalo will play the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs during Week 6 on October 15. The game will be part of Fox’s Thursday Night Football which will also be broadcast on the NFL Network as well as Amazon Prime Video.

While all three of the previously mentioned games are important, none are more important than the Bills’ matchup against the newest powerhouse in the AFC. Patrick Mahomes has taken the league by storm in his first two seasons as a starter. In that time, Mahomes has thrown for 50 touchdowns in a season (2018), won the MVP (2018), won the Super Bowl and the Super Bowl MVP (2019).

The Chiefs’ offense is the team’s calling card. The unit ranked sixth over all last year and features a supporting cast of Tyreek Hill, Damien Williams and Sammy Watkins. Add to that first round running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire out of LSU, and the Chiefs offense could actually be more deadly this year.

Luckily, the Bills get the Chiefs at home during this game. Plus, the game’s Thursday night start time will likely give Kansas City a much shorter rest period than the Bills due to travel. Do not underestimate the importance of those two factors as Thursday night games can get very weird very fast.

Beating the Chiefs would solidify the Bills’ unquestionable position as a team to be reckoned with in the AFC and would make Buffalo one of the centers of the football world.
