Buffalo Bills: 3 possible matchups that could be on primetime in 2020
By Rob Spehar
Sunday Night Football – Kansas City Chiefs
Bills versus Chiefs on a Sunday night at New Era Field. This has the making of a great game with a high audience tuning in. The defending Super Bowl Champions will stroll into town with some serious swagger and for good reason. But they will be facing a fierce and fired up squad who are up for the challenge to take down the defending champs.
This game would have two of the strongest arms in the league going head to head in Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. Fans may remember that back in April of 2019, Josh Allen sent out a challenge to Patrick Mahomes to see who can throw the football the farthest. It was entertained by the Chiefs quarterback, but nothing ever came of it. This game can be that chance to see the aerial show that we all hoped would have happened when the challenge was issued.
It will also be fun to watch two players from the draft class of 2017 go head to head with Mahomes versus Tre’Davious White. The Bills traded their 10th pick in exchange for the Chiefs’ 27th pick and a third rounder in that draft, along with a future first round, who ended up drafting Mahomes. The Buffalo Bills turned around and drafted Tre’Davious White with the 27th pick. Obviously both have turned out to be outstanding players. Wouldn’t it be storybook if White picks of Mahomes in this game?
The previous time these two teams met was back in 2017 at Arrowhead Stadium with the Bills coming out on top 16-10. That was then, this is now, and this game should be in primetime. This is a game that will be marked on many people’s calendar once the schedule is released on Thursday.
