Coaching Consistency

Brian Daboll has been the offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills for the same amount of time that Josh Allen has been the quarterback. In their two seasons together, the Bills offense has ranked 30th in 2018 and 24th in 2019 respectively.

While this may not seem like the high powered offense that many Bills fans were hoping for when the Josh Allen era began, the six spot jump from 2018 to 2019 shows proof of an offense that is starting to improve little by little.

Throughout the 2019 season, Devin Singletary‘s injury caused the Bills’ offense to sputter.  Despite the lack of running game, the Bills still continued to win consistently. This is likely due to Josh Allen’s familiarity with Daboll’s offensive scheme considering Daboll’s is the only system Allen has known since entering the NFL. With the duo entering their third year together, it is not far fetched to think that the Bills offense will make another steady leap in the 2020 season.

It also helps that the Bills have had essentially the same coaching staff since 2017. Head coach Sean McDermott and defensive coordinator Leslie Frasier have consistently put together a top ranked defense year after year. As the saying goes, consistency is key, and the Bills have been the model of coaching consistency over the past three seasons.
