Stephen Hauschka

The Buffalo Bills put their veteran kicker on notice earlier this offseason with the signing of Kaare Vedvik to a reserves/futures contract in January. The former Marshall kicker has bounced around to four different franchises over the past two years but was legitimate competition for Hauschka.

The fire under Hauschka’s seat got even warmer with the Buffalo BIlls selecting Tyler Bass in the sixth round of this past NFL Draft. This now gives the team three players who will likely be competing for the starting kicker job, although Vedvik could compete for the team’s punter job as well.

It is worth noting that the Buffalo Bills used a sixth round pick on Bass and wasn’t the last pick or added a kicker as an undrafted free agent. If Bass has a good performance during training camp, he should finish with the starting job and Hauschka could be out.
