Player Comparison: Aaron Schobel

The Buffalo Bills second round pick out of Iowa conjures memories of another former defensive end the Bills selected in the second round back in 2001, Aaron Schobel. The former TCU pass rusher went on to have an excellent nine-year career with the Bills and finished second in franchise history in sacks with 78 sacks.

The comparisons between the two players are that both may not be dynamic speed rushers but they both get the job done in that department. The similarities in their games is that both are excellent against the run and setting the edge.

Epenesa is a big 6’5″, 275 pound defensive end that will not be pushed around and likely line up over the left tackle in this 4-3 defense, something that Schobel did considering he was 6’4″ and 263 pounds coming out of college.

If the Buffalo Bills are able to get the next Aaron Schobel with A.J. Epenesa, this front office should be very happy.
