The Buffalo Bills will focus on defense early

The Buffalo Bills were very aggressive this offseason and addressed a number of key needs already in free agency. While the team did add a majority of players on the defensive side of the ball, they will likely go back and focus on these areas when they are finally on the clock in the second round, and probably in the third round as well.

The team could use their second round pick on a running back like Jonathan Taylor or J.K. Dobbins if they were to fall. Either player would be great to pair with Devin Singletary in this backfield.

However, the free agents they signed on the defensive side of the ball aren’t sure things and shouldn’t dissuade them from addressing cornerback or defensive end in these first couple of rounds.

There is a chance that a player like Trevon Diggs, Stefon Diggs’ brother, could fall to the second round that would be the perfect fit in this defense.

The other position would be at defensive end as the Bills brought in Mario Addison but at the top of their depth chart is three players who will be 30 years or older by season’s end. This defense could use some youth at the position and begin developing a player to take over for Jerry Hughes or Addison heading into next season.

If the Bills are going to trade up it might be in the second round to go and get a pass rusher like A.J. Epenesa if he makes it out of the first round and starts to slide in the second.
