Buffalo Bills: Worst first round picks and who they could have had
2013 NFL Draft – EJ Manuel (16th overall)
The Buffalo Bills were still searching for their franchise quarterback and hoped the selection of EJ Manuel with the 16th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft could be that answer. However, injuries and lack of trust in him by the coaches didn’t give him much of an extended chance to show he could be the franchise quarterback.
In four seasons with the Bills, he played in only 28 games, starting 17 of them, and finished with a record of 6-11. His rookie season was the year he saw the most playing time with 10 starts. The Bills elected to not pick up his fifth year option and he became a free agent after the 2016 season. He signed with the Oakland Raiders and played one season there but hasn’t been back in the NFL since the 2017 season.
For his career, he had 3,767 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.
