Buffalo Bills 7-Round Mock Draft: Buffalo goes cornerback first

Round 6, 188th overall: Tanner Muse, S (Clemson)

The Bills go back to the defensive side of the ball with the first of their two six round picks with the selection of Tanner Muse out of Clemson. While he has played safety during his collegiate career, the scouting report by Joe Marino says he would be better suited as a 4-3 WILL linebacker, which makes a great deal of sense.

This is one of those situations that he isn’t fast enough to be a safety but as a linebacker his speed would be an asset. He is a heavy hitter that already has the size to play as a WILL and the Buffalo Bills could see him eventually being the long term replacement to Lorenzo Alexander.

In addition, Sean McDermott has experience converting safeties to linebackers as he was the defensive coordinator when Shaq Thompson for the Carolina Panthers made a similar switch. If anyone can coach and help develop Muse, it would be McDermott.
