A.J. Klein vs. Vosean Joseph

One of the tasks this Buffalo Bills coaching staff will have before the start of the 2020 season is finding their replacement for Lorenzo Alexander. The veteran linebacker retired at the end of the season.

The Bills went out and added A.J. Klein, who was with the New Orleans Saints the past two years but prior to that was with the Carolina Panthers. He is likely going to be competing for the starting job with fifth round draft pick from a year ago in Vosean Joseph.

A.J. Klein is an underrated linebacker, who has been productive when given the chance. During his time in Carolina, he was often the forgotten linebacker playing alongside Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis, two excellent players. However, when Kuechly would be forced to miss time it was actually Klein that would step in as his replacement.

This trust in the coaching staff speaks to not only his ability, but his knowledge of this defense. This experience will be valuable to have on the field.

However, the Bills do have an exciting prospect in Vosean Joseph who showed flashes during the preseason last year. He was forced to miss the entire season though due to a shoulder injury. He is largely unknown to the fans but he could be a surprise starter entering his second season.
