DeAndre Washington

The running back position is one that the Bills’ front office has been trying to add but haven’t been able to close a deal yet. There was reports last week the team was interested in Jordan Howard, who signed with Miami Dolphins, and then later this week there was rumors that the Bills could be interested in Melvin Gordon. However, Gordon elected to sign with the Denver Broncos.

While the Bills could go the veteran route, the better option would be a player like DeAndre Washington, formerly with the Raiders. He is younger, at 27 years of age, and has been effective when given the opportunity.

Last season, he played behind Josh Jacobs but was asked to start three games towards the end of the season due to Jacobs’ injury. In three starts, Washington averaged 111 yards from scrimmage and had two touchdowns over those three games.

He is a player that not only can carry the ball but also be a weapon out of the backfield. He could be the perfect compliment to Devin Singletary if the team wants to go that route.
