Buffalo Bills beat New England Patriots in Gillette Stadium

There wasn’t always a lot to cheer about during Rex Ryan’s run as head coach for the Buffalo Bills but in Week 4 of the 2016 season, he led the team to one of their biggest wins in recent memory with a 16-0 win over the Patriots.

While some will point to the fact that Tom Brady didn’t play and the Bills still missed the playoff that season with Rex Ryan not even finishing out the year as head coach, this is still a win over the New England Patriots.

That game the Patriots came in undefeated at 3-0 and the Bills got their first win after losing the first two of the 2016 season. This was by far one of their more well rounded performances getting strong play from the offense and the defense.

The Bills offense did a good job moving the ball down the field with 246 passing yards and 134 rushing yards, led by LeSean McCoy with 70 rushing, 38 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. While Tyrod Taylor wasn’t spectacular he was reliable and did a good job protecting the ball.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Bills shut down the Patriots offense by allowing only 277 total yards and sacking Jacoby Brissett three times. They also forced one turnover, a fumble that was recovered by Preston Brown.

There wasn’t much to cheer about during the 2016 season but that win over the Patriots was one of the lone bright spots.
