Buffalo Bills Draft Rumors: Tee Higgins an early favorite in the draft process
It is very early in the NFL Draft process, but after the NFL Combine there is one wide receiver that is starting to emerge within the Buffalo Bills front office, according to Benjamin Allbright.
The big event on the road to the NFL Draft is the NFL Combine, which took place last week in Indianapolis. This gives teams a chance to really dive into their evaluations of players and confirm what they have seen or re-evaluate. According to Benjamin Allbright, Tee Higgins has been getting some love internally from the Buffalo Bills.
Allbright has been pretty dialed into what the Buffalo Bills have done over the past few years as the tweet he quoted notes. He was seemingly ahead of the curve on the Bills connection to quarterback Josh Allen in 2018 and then Ed Oliver this past season.
As Allbright tweeted, the process if far from over but this little bit of information, based on his track record, should carry some weight considering the person tweeting it.
For any fans that have been reading the numerous mock drafts out there, the one player regularly connected to the Buffalo Bills has been former Clemson wide receiver Tee Higgins. The connection between franchise and player makes a lot of sense.
The Buffalo Bills are going to be looking for a top wide receiver to add to this offense, to help Josh Allen but to also compliment the veterans on the team in the form of John Brown and Cole Beasley.
Higgins is a player that can do a lot of things that were missing from this offense a season ago. He is a big wide receiver at 6’4″ and 215 pounds but doesn’t compromise athleticism for his size. He played basketball in high school and this has translated nicely to his play on the field, especially when going after 50/50 balls.
During his time at Clemson he was highly productive with 2,103 receiving yards and 25 receiving touchdowns over the past two seasons.
If Tee Higgins is available when the Buffalo Bills are on the clock at 22, the front office likely won’t stress too much about the pick and will be ecstatic to add a player like him to this team.
