Round 5, Pick 149: Michael Turk, P (Arizona State)

This pick is out of the box and does go against the theme of players that the Buffalo Bills met, however Michael Turk is a weapon on special teams and showed out at the combine putting up 25 reps on the bench press impressing many on social media as well as scouts at the NFL Combine.

Turk comes from a punting family as his uncle is former NFL punter Matt Turk, so it’s there in his bloodline to keep punting balls. In 2019 Turk punted 67 times with an average of 46 yards per punt. He can absolutely flip field position and in the later rounds if Sean McDermott keeps all the picks, Turk could be a weapon that helps change the game.

Many of Bills Mafia won’t enjoy taking a punter this early in the draft, or won’t be as excited to take a punter in the draft, but the talent that Turk provides out weighs the negative with the position.
