Buffalo Bills: 4 running backs to watch at NFL Combine
A.J. Dillon
The three running backs previously listed are more well-rounded running backs that can contribute on the ground, as well as through the air. However, that is not what A.J. Dillon is but if the Bills are looking for size and power, then Dillon is the player they want.
He is a bruiser and a punishing runner at 6’0″ and 250 pounds and was the bell cow for Boston College. He averaged 282 carries, 1,460 rushing yards and 12.6 rushing touchdowns over three seasons for the Eagles. However, rarely contributed in the passing game with only 21 career receptions.
The interest from the Buffalo Bills in Dillon will come down to philosophy and whether they want that big back to pick up short yards. The reason this offense may not need that is they do have a weapon in Josh Allen that can do that for them.
However, as he progresses in his career the coaching staff may not be as willing to utilize him in that way. A player Dillon, with his experience in college, could be the perfect compliment to Devin Singletary in this backfield.
