First Round, Pick 22: Henry Ruggs III

A tall wide receiver who has impressive hands and electric speed? Sounds like something the Bills were missing during the 2019 season. John Brown is not a number one receiver but he’s a great number two. However, he lacks the size and hand skills that can dominate the AFC East.

Henry Ruggs III is a big body receiver that can high point the ball and outrun defenders. Ruggs III ended last season with only 746 receiving yards but with an average of 18.6 yards per catch. He also had seven touchdowns for the Crimson Tide. While he had similar numbers in 2018, he’s still a raw product that hasn’t reached that full potential and should produce in the NFL at an elite level.

Ruggs III only flaw is his lack of knowledge of the route tree and he still needs to develop in that area of his game. Fulfilling that should take his game to the next level and really help him become an elite force that can help Josh Allen take his game up a notch in year three.

If Brandon Beane gets the opportunity to draft Henry Ruggs III the Bills front office will be running to the podium to hand in their draft card. Ruggs III is a wide receiver that can rearrange the Bills offensive game plan.
