D.J. Humphries
Is Cody Ford the answer at Right Tackle for the Buffalo Bills? Or is it Ty Nsekhe? It’s a question many have asked. Coming out of college, Ford was projected to be more of a guard then a tackle, but due to injuries this year with Nsekhe he was thrust into a starting role on the right side.
D.J. Humphries was a first round pick in 2015 by the Arizona Cardinals. However, he was inactive that whole year but in 2016 he started the first 13 games, ten of those being at right tackle and three at left, before suffering a concussion and missing the rest of the year.
Injury concerns might have the Arizona Cardinals looking elsewhere but the Bills shouldn’t shy away because in 2019 he played all 16 games. Humphries would be an immediate upgrade at the position because it would then allow Ford to move inside to guard.
Pro Football Focus has him ranked as the 52nd best free agent this year which is the highest player on this list and might make him a long shot. Humphries is still a young tackle that can bolster the offensive line and allow Ford swing to guard.
If the Cardinals do decide to let him test the open market, the Buffalo Bills will be there waiting.
