Sammie Coates

In terms of physical attributes, Sammie Coates checks all the boxes for what the Buffalo Bills would be looking for at wide receiver. He is 6’1″ and 225 pounds but has great speed for his size. However, he hasn’t put it all together and inconsistency catching the ball has all been an issue, dating back to his time at Auburn.

Coates was a third round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2015 and had some moderate success his second year in the league. He finished that season with 21 receptions for 435 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

However, after that season he was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2017, signed as a free agent with the Houston Texans in 2018 and didn’t play in the NFL this past season after being cut by the Kansas City Chiefs last offseason.

Next. 4 free agent signings the Bills could make that would be a surprise. dark

At only 26 years of age, Coates still has plenty of football in front of him. If he has a good season with the Houston Roughnecks, there should be NFL teams that come calling and it wouldn’t be surprising if the Buffalo Bills weren’t one of them.
