These are four players that Buffalo Bills’ fans should pay close attention to during the first week of the XFL season.
Even though the Super Bowl was last weekend, Buffalo Bills fans will have some live football to watch this weekend with the first weekend of the XFL season. There will be four games, two on Saturday and two on Sunday, that will showcase all eight teams in the new league.
While this is a brand new league, there are plenty of players that Bills fans will know, as well as some that they should know. This is a time for a number of these players to showcase their skills and they could possible earn a spot on an NFL roster heading into OTAs and training camp.
In terms of coaching, the Buffalo Bills have a connection with Kevin Gilbride, who is the head coach of the New York Guardians. In 2002 and 2003, Gilbride was the Bills’ offensive coordinator under head coach Gregg Williams. The 2002 season was the better of the two seasons with the Bills offense ranked 11th in total yards and points but it dropped to 30th in both categories in 2003.
Gilbride was let go after that season and he went on to win two Super Bowl rings with the New York Giants.
If Buffalo Bills fans are tuning in for the first weekend of the XFL, these are four players they should look for.
