The Buffalo Bills found out on Thursday that they would have a second representative at the upcoming Pro Bowl.

Cornerback Tre’Davious White will not be traveling to the Pro Bowl alone this year as Buffalo Bills linebacker Tremaine Edmunds will be joining him. Edmunds was named to the Pro Bowl as a replacement for New England Patriots’ linebacker D’Onta Hightower.

Edmunds was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft and stepped in as the team’s starting linebacker almost immediately. He has been a tackling machine in the middle of this defense with two consecutive seasons over 100 total tackles.

He finished the year with 1.5 sacks, one interception and nine passes defended in addition to the tackles. He also played every defensive snap for the Buffalo Bills this past season.

This past season the Buffalo Bills had one of the top defenses in the league. They finished the year in the Top 10 in total yards allowed (3rd), passing yards (4th), rushing yards (10th) and points per game (2nd).

It was surprising to see that on a defense that performed like this that the Bills only had one player. However, there is no question that Edmunds played a key role to the success of this group. He was the one getting the plays from the sideline, making pre-snap adjustments and getting players in position before the snap.

At only 21 years of age, Edmunds future is very bright in the NFL and was one of the reasons he was identified as a potential breakout star in 2020. Sean McDermott has had the opportunity to coach Luke Kuechly while in Carolina and Edmunds looks to be the next great linebacker that McDermott will have the chance to coach.

The NFL Pro Bowl takes place on January 26th at 3 PM in Orlando, FL. The game will be televised on ESPN and ABC.
