Buffalo Bills: Tre’Davious White named to PFWA All-NFL team
The Buffalo Bills cornerback was recognized with another award after an excellent season.
After being named an All-Pro, Tre’Davious White was named to the All-NFL and All-AFC teams by the Pro Football Writers Association. He was joined on both teams by former Buffalo Bills cornerback, and now New England Patriot, Stephon Gilmore.
This is White’s third award after being named as All-Pro, as mentioned previously, in addition to being the lone representative from the Buffalo Bills in the Pro Bowl.
White, a former first round pick, had a breakout season in his third year in the league. He finished the year with 50 total tackles, two forced fumbles, six interceptions (which was tied for the league lead) and allowed only 47 receptions on 84 targets in the regular season, according to Pro Football Focus.
It should be no surprise that the Bills continue to rank among one of the best pass defenses in the league with a player like White in their secondary. By having him on this team, this gives the coaching staff more freedom to call up plays and be a little more aggressive.
White is consistently asked to cover the opposing team’s best wide receiver and more times than not, he is winning that battle. As evident by allowing only 47 receptions all season, an average of less than three per game.
It is worth noting that while White’s numbers are very similar to Stephon Gilmore, the Bills cornerback is rarely discussed as a contender for Defensive Player of the Year, like this article by Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com.

At only 24 years of age, White still has plenty of football in front of him and as long as he is part of this defense, the Bills should be one of the better pass defenses in the league.
