Buffalo Bills to face Texans Saturday in Wild Card Round
By Randy Gurzi
The schedule is set and the Buffalo Bills will travel to Houston to play the Texans in the Wild Card Round of the 2019 NFL Playoffs.
With the 2019 NFL Season wrapped up, we are now onto the playoffs. And for the Buffalo Bills, they now know where their road to the Super Bowl begins.
Buffalo will play the Houston Texans on Saturday, Jan. 4 in the Wild Card Round. The AFC South winners lost to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, which allowed their divisional opponents to make it into the playoffs as well.
For Houston, there was nothing riding on that game as they had their division wrapped up. That means, much like the Bills, they were able to rest their players up for this coming game.
The Bills and Texans did not meet this season but both clubs finished with a record of 10-6. They did have some common opponents, including the Titans and New England Patriots.
Each team defeated the Titans — Houston did so in Week 15 when their starters did play. However, the Texans were able to knock off the Patriots 28-22 earlier in the season whereas the Bills weren’t able to score a win over them in either one of their contests.
For the Bills, it will be the first time their young quarterback, Josh Allen, is in the postseason. He’s also going to be a wild card in his own right.
Buffalo’s defense is able to keep them in just about every game but the question continues to be whether or not the offense can get things rolling.
That pressure will fall on the shoulders of Allen, who will get his first chance to silence doubters on Saturday.
