Linebackers: Nick Barnett, Lorenzo Alexander, Preston Brown

The Bills have had trouble filling some of their positions, but linebacker has not been one of them. In fact, this was the hardest position to fill since there will be some seriously talented players left off the list. Rather than rattle them off, we look at the three who made the cut.

Nick Barnett came to the Bills after playing eight seasons for the Green Bay Packers. At 30-years of age, it was fair to assume his best days were behind him but he put that to rest by racking up 130 tackles in his first season with the Bills and 112 in his second. He wasn’t with Buffalo long but he did enough to prove he was one of their better linebackers.

Next is Lorenzo Alexander who is still going strong at 36-years old. Alexander was a nine-year veteran when he joined Buffalo in 2016 and made his second Pro Bowl that season when he had 64 tackles and 12.5 sacks. In his four seasons with the Bills, he has 253 tackles, 24 sacks, and three interceptions.

Preston Brown rounds out the list and he was a player who just simply knew how to find the ball. In four seasons, he had 505 tackles, never once recording less than the 109 he had as a rookie in 2014.

In his final season with the Bills, he had a career-high 144 tackles, which tied him for first in the NFL with Joe Schobert of the Cleveland Browns.
