Defensive End: Mario Williams, Jerry Hughes

Mario Williams was one of the biggest free-agent additions in recent memory for the Buffalo Bills. The No. 1 overall pick in 2006 spent the first six seasons of his career with the Houston Texans before Buffalo lured him north in 2012.

Two days of negotiations with the Bills led to Williams signing the largest contract for a defensive player in NFL history) at that time. The deal was a six-year contract worth $100 million and nearly half of that was guaranteed.

He made two Pro Bowls in and had three-straight seasons with double-digit sacks to start his career with the Bills. However, a down season in 2015 led to his release.

Across from him on this All-Decade team is Jerry Hughes, who is still playing for the Bills. Hughes had a lot less press around his addition as Buffalo traded for him in 2013, giving Kelvin Sheppard to the Colts for the 25-year old pass rusher.

After recording just five sacks in three seasons with Indianapolis, Hughes had 10 sacks in 2013 and 10 more in 2014. He hasn’t hit double-digits since then but remains a strong player on the edge with 304 tackles, 46.5 sacks, 12 forced fumbles, and one defensive touchdown in his seven seasons with Buffalo.

Hughes might not go down as one of the best in the NFL, but he surely has been one of the best the Bills have ever had.
