Buffalo Bills back in AFC East race with Patriots loss
By Randy Gurzi
The New England Patriots lost to the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football which opens the door for the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East
Don’t look now, but the Buffalo Bills are in contention in the AFC East. A division that has been owned by the New England Patriots for the past 10 seasons looks to be coming down to the final weeks as the Bills are now just one game behind New England.
The Patriots entered the week with a two-game lead but that changed when Buffalo upset the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day and the Patriots lost to the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football.
Now just one game separates the two teams and they will meet again in Week 16, which could end up deciding the division. For Buffalo, they will not only be looking to take the division away from New England, but they also want some payback for earlier in the year.

Back in Week 4, the Bills hosted New England and each team was 3-0 at the time. No one wanted to believe Buffalo was for real and the doubters felt justified as the defending champs were victorious.
However, it wasn’t a blowout as some thought it could be. Instead, it was a close game decided by just six points. Not only was it that close, but Josh Allen had one of his worst games of the season and even had to leave the game with a concussion.
In the end, Buffalo lost 16-10 but they know that was a winnable game they let slip away.
Should the defense be able to once again keep New England under 20 points, you would have to believe this Bills team could take advantage and win the East for the first time since 1995. And that seems possible considering the struggles the Pats offense has been having as of late.
Even if they don’t take the division, this team is all but guaranteed a playoff berth. But with the way they’re playing, they should be aiming higher.
