Round 1: Laviska Shenault, Wide Receiver, Colorado

After 12 games, the Bills have two players with a shot to hit 1,000-yards on the season. John Brown now has 61 receptions for 882 yards and a team-high five touchdowns. He shares that touchdown lead with Cole Beasley who is coming off his best game of the season as he torched his former team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Beasley is right behind Brown with 55 receptions and has 635 yards. It’s a longshot for him to cross the 1,000-yard plateau but it isn’t impossible.

Brown and Beasley were both new additions to the Bills this season as they signed the free agents to give Josh Allen a couple of weapons. While they have been great additions, neither of them can be called prototypical No. 1 receivers in the NFL. That doesn’t mean they’re not going to continue to be great players for Buffalo but they need to get themselves someone capable of taking over games at the position.

They do that with the first pick in this mock draft as they select Laviska Shenault out of Colorado. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 220-pounds, Shenault has the size to frustrate opponents and he’s also proven to be incredibly versatile as the Buffaloes have lined him up all over the offense.

In addition to being a great receiver, Shenault is tough to bring down once he does have the ball. He’s built like a running back and has no issues punishing defensive backs while churning out extra yards. He and Allen could make a great team as they’ll be able to grow alongside one another. And thanks to the presence of veterans such as Beasley and Brown, he won’t be forced to carry the passing game either.
