The Buffalo Bills scored 17 straight points to squeak out a 17-16 win over the New York Jets.

Entering the fourth quarter, the story of the game for the Buffalo Bills was going to be the play of Josh Allen. The first half couldn’t have gone any worse for the second year quarterback as he had four turnovers, two fumbles and two interceptions, and even threw a third that was negated due to a penalty on the New York Jets.

However, the fourth quarter changed all that as the Bills scored 17 straight points to take a 17-16 lead in the final four minutes of the game.

While it was Josh Allen that accounted for the team’s two touchdowns, one rushing and a 38-yard touchdown pass to John Brown, the spark for this offense came from rookie Devin Singletary. On the Bills’ first touchdown drive, Singletary accounted for 55 of the team’s 85 yards with three rushes totaling 50 yards and one reception for 5 yards.

It was the Bills’ defense though that made a statement and their play against the Jets was the only reason this game was close enough to stage this comeback. The first eight points scored by the Jets came when the Bills’ defense wasn’t even on the field as C.J. Mosley returned an interception for a touchdown and the Jets defense secured a safety early in the third quarter.

It was a stifling performance by the defense that held the Jets offense to only 227 total yards, 3.5 yards per pay and sacked Sam Darnold four times, with Jerry Hughes leading the way with 1.5 sacks.
