Linebacker

Matt Milano, Tremaine Edmunds, Lorenzo Alexander, Corey Thompson, Julian Stanford, Vosean Joseph

Cut: Maurice Alexander, Tyrel Dodson, Deon Lacy

There wasn’t a great deal of drama surrounding the linebacker position as this was one that felt pretty well set from the opening of training camp.

The Bills once again will have a starting trio of Matt Milano, Tremaine Edmunds and Lorenzo Alexander. The question for the most part will be how much Alexander plays over the course of the season. At 36 years of age, he is nearing the end of his career and the coaching staff may try to limit his snaps.

This means the Bills will either play more nickel in 2019 and use Edmunds and Milano as the two linebackers. The other option would be to rotate in Corey Thompson more so he can gain experience and potentially be the successor once Alexander decides to hang it up.
