Who starts opposite Tre White?

The biggest glaring weakness on this defense has to be the cornerback position opposite Tre White. The front office brought in competition by signing EJ Gaines and Kevin Johnson to compete with last year’s starter Levi Wallace, who performed well as an undrafted rookie.

Entering camp, Wallace has to be the favorite as he finished as one of the best rookie cornerbacks last year according to Pro Football Focus.

However, if Wallace is not able to replicate, the signing of Kevin Johnson could be one of those under the radar moves that have a huge impact on a season. Johnson, a former first round pick, was released by the Houston Texans last year. He has dealt with his fair share of injuries but when on the field has played well.

The talent is there and it will just be a matter of who plays better over the next month to earn that job opposite Tre White.
