Buffalo Bills: Early fantasy rankings for the 2019 season
The Buffalo Bills struggled on offense in 2018. More experience and new additions should help turn things around during the 2019 season.
Fantasy football season never ends for those looking to get an early start on the upcoming season.
Or if you are in a dynasty league like me, the season truly never ends as you keep your team for life. For better or for worse.
The Buffalo Bills didn’t boast too many great fantasy options last year, at least until the end of the season. Josh Allen and Robert Foster had some nice fantasy games in the second half of the season and will hopefully carry over that success into 2019. Along with many others on the team.
ESPN’s Matthew Berry has published his set of fantasy rankings, which will be updated throughout the year and surely after the NFL Draft. As of right now there are Bills players listed at every position.
Allen shows up as the No. 21 overall quarterback. That is not a surprise considering his abilities in the running game. I doubt Allen will need to rush as much as he did last year. Yet the added value comes when he could pick up some nice rushing touchdowns in short-yardage situations near the goal line.
When it comes to the running backs, LeSean McCoy is ranked No. 34 overall and Frank Gore is down at the No. 55 spot. It is a bit alarming that McCoy is ranked so low. The problem is that there can’t be too much confidence surrounding him given his age and his disastrous year in 2018. While it is easy to cast blame elsewhere for how he did, it is also easy to say that is was not a fluke at all.
The interesting part of Berry’s rankings comes in the receiver section. Among his top 60, Robert Foster is the only Bills receiver included at No. 54 overall. Cole Beasley and John Brown could arguably crack that spot as well. My guess is that Berry only sees one Bills receiver doing much in 2019. At least enough to be ranked in the top 60.
Rounding out the offense is Tyler Kroft, who is ranked as Berry’s No. 28 tight end.
My only argument is that Beasley probably belongs in the top 60. Yet I also know he, along with Foster, could get bumped down once the draft takes place.

The positive takeaway from this is that the Bills have several players who should go in most fantasy drafts. That is a nice change after last season.
