Buffalo Bills fans showed up on Twitter and voted the team through to the next round of a Twitter bracket contest to decide the best fans in the NFL.
I recently wrote about how the Buffalo Bills had picked up two surprising wins in the Twitter bracket contest being put on by @NFLonFOX.
The goal of the bracket is to pick the best fan base in the NFL. Having fans vote seems like a perfect and fun way to do just that.
The matchup with New Orleans Saints fans ended today and it was a nail-biter.
The Bills and the Saints nearly tied but Buffalo showed up and took down the fans in New Orleans.
Bills fans are a No. 7 seed and have advanced to the Final Four of the bracket to take on Tennessee Titans fans, who are a No. 8 seed. The other side of the bracket sees Cleveland Browns fans going up against Chicago Bears fans.
Contests like these are fun because fans from smaller markets can earn some bragging rights by voting more than fans from larger markets. The bracket is set up in a way that should mean teams from larger markets easily win, but this goes to show how fans of smaller market teams show up in support of nearly anything involving their team.
The voting continues Monday and I have a feeling Bills fans will be ready to immediately vote for the team and share the poll as soon as the tweet goes up.
We all have to do something to stay busy and enthusiastic when actual football is still months away.
