Buffalo Bills: Post-Combine full 2019 first-round mock draft

There are several ways I would like to go here. Buffalo needs help at receiver and tight end. No. 9 might be early to take a tight end, I strongly considered T.J. Hockenson here, but the depth at tight end and receiver led me away from doing that. Ideally, I would love for Buffalo to trade back, and I fully expect them to explore that come the draft.

Taylor has risen up draft boards over the past several weeks and has put himself in the conversation for the best tackle in the class. Buffalo needs to protect Josh Allen and Taylor can play on the right immediately and may be able to even play on the left. He would be a welcomed addition to the offense line with his 6-foot-5 build and smooth operation in the trenches.

I fully expect the Bills to add at least two more offensive linemen in free agency, but until that actually happens, Taylor is the guy for the Bills.

If you are a tall, strong-armed quarterback, then you are on John Elway’s radar. If Haskins drops to 10, the Broncos would be hard press to pass on a young gunslinger. The decision will come down to whether or not Elway prefers Haskins or Lock. Either way, Haskins will provide newly-acquired Joe Flacco with some competition to open the year.

White had an extremely impressive combine and has established himself as a riser in the draft process. Cincinnati is at the point where they could use a complete overhaul throughout most of their team. Preston Brown didn’t work out great for them last year and Vontaze Burfict cannot stay on the field because he is an extremely dirty player. Taking White could give them a linebacker at the heart of their defense for years to come.

The Packers should have two objectives in mind for the offseason: 1) ACQUIRE MULTIPLE PASS-RUSHERS 2) PROTECT AARON RODGERS.

Sweat’s performance at the combine made him a candidate for a top-10 selection. He would give the Green Bay an athletic presence on the edge and satisfy a need. No need to overthink this one, especially with another first in your back pocket.

A year later than the Bills and Jets, the Dolphins go after their franchise quarterback. Drew Lock has a strong arm and put up big numbers in the SEC, but there are questions about his decision making and if he is worthy of a first-round pick. However with a new head coach and the team in a rebuilding year, Miami could look to draft their future signal-caller, have him sit a year behind Ryan Tannehill, and then be ready to take over a young offense in 2020.

Before the start of the year, Ed Oliver’s name was floated around as a candidate for the first overall selection. He did not wow at the combine as some thought he would, but his game tape proved he is still a major presence along the defensive line. He is my No. 2 player overall on my big board and provides major value at pick No. 14. Much like Derwin James last year, his impact will be sudden and make you wonder why he fell so far.

Many may want Metcalf to go to the Bills at No. 9, but at this point I don’t really see it. Sure it makes plenty of sense, but I still have reservations.

As for Washington, they lack a truly elite weapon and are dying for some semblance of an offense. Metcalf immediately provides a top weapon for them on the outside and gives whoever is under center for them a target.

With the departure of Daryl Williams imminent in this year’s free agency, this pick is necessary. Dillard is shooting up draft boards and should find himself picked in the 10-24 range. He performed well at the combine, so his times and interviews may land him in Carolina.
