The Buffalo Bills made an addition to the offensive line this week, getting the free agency signings underway early in 2019.

The Buffalo Bills signed Vontae Davis to a deal last February before free agency officially began. That sure went well.

The Bills are at it once again as the team signed Spencer Long, one week after the offensive lineman had been let go by the New York Jets. This is why he was able to be signed, as he did not enter the offseason as a free agent.

Long joins the team as someone who could contribute in 2019, but he is not assured a spot in any sense.

That salary does not include the potential guaranteed money he is owed, so if that figure is low then Long is not automatically a starter. I’m assuming most of that is not guaranteed.

We shall see.

In other news it is Valentine’s Day! If you do not celebrate, be sure to listen to the BLD Podcast. Our two new hosts will keep you company. Or just order a pizza, grab some wings, and relax. I’ll personally be gorging on breadsticks at a restaurant with the initials of “OG.”

Anyway, here is the latest Bills news in today’s Morning Charge.

Buffalo Bills News:

Solid rookie grades for the 2018 class (BuffaLowDown, Steven Kubitza)

It is rare to get production from nearly the entire draft class. The Bills had that in 2018, and that is before factoring in the undrafted guys.

Jordan Mills contract extension projection (Buffalo Rumblings, Matt Warren)

Speaking of the offensive line, this article looks at a 2018 member who is in need of a new contract. Does he deserve one in Buffalo?

Kyler Murray deciding on NFL could help Bills (Bills Wire, Nick Wojton)

Desperate teams may come calling for that No. 9 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. I imagine Brandon Beane will have his feet up, waiting for the calls to roll in.

What are the chances the Bills will repeat as a top five defense in 2019? (Bills.com, Chris Brown)

The play of the defense was a major positive in 2018.

Will that continue in 2019? It better.
