The Buffalo Bills lost a starting offensive lineman in Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins. That and more in today’s Morning Charge.

The Buffalo Bills are dealing with more than a loss after Sunday.

News came out Monday that starting center Russell Bodine is out for the remainder of the season with what sounds like a nasty leg injury.

This likely means that Ryan Groy will be the starter at center for the rest of the year.

Groy did see some action on Sunday so he and Josh Allen have some work together this year.

This injury shouldn’t derail the Bills on offense, and would stand out much more if the team was competing for a playoff berth. Alas, center stands out as a position the team can target in the offseason or the draft considering Bodine can be let go this offseason.

The Bills have been lucky to avoid many major injuries this year. That may change here at the end of the year, but since there are only four games remaining the effects won’t be as bad compared to if they happened earlier in the year.

Let’s look at some of the other news surrounding the Bills in today’s edition of The Morning Charge.

Buffalo Bills News:

Breaking down the phases of Josh Allen’s play in 2018 (BuffaLowDown, Steven Kubitza)

Josh Allen has been an interesting player to watch this season. His passing numbers have been lackluster at times, but then he seems to make up for it with his legs. He has also led the team to some wins, which is always a good thing from a rookie.

Latest on the situation between Jerry Hughes and a referee (BuffaLowDown, Steven Kubitza)

Jerry Hughes had himself an interesting postgame on Sunday as he confronted a referee who apparently called him a less than polite name. We learned a bit more on Monday, including that Sean McDermott doesn’t appear to be mad at Hughes at all.

Jordan Phillips: Adam Gase definitely respects me after Sunday (PFT, Josh Alper)

Jordan Phillips was excited to face his old team and that was a storyline to follow on Sunday. Too bad he couldn’t pick up the victory.

Josh Allen has found a way to be dynamic with his legs and it could make him tough to gameplan for in the future.

As long as he avoids big hits, he can run all he wants.
