There are probably going to be plenty of people who disagree with Steve Tasker‘s place on this list, and understandably so. While not a star quarterback or sack artist, he will go down as arguably the greatest special teams player of all-time. Is that worth higher than No. 17, though?
Personally, I don’t think so. However, I still think that this spot on the list is more than high enough to give Tasker the credit he deserves as one of the Bills’ most underrated players ever.
Tasker was everything you could ever want in a special teams player. Despite his lack of size, he was a big-time hitter who had a knack for creating turnovers. Although he rarely contributed or even played wide receiver despite that being his “position,” everyone knew him for his spectacular, game-changing impact on special teams.
Tasker was so great at what he did, he was once a semi-finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame — as a special teamer. He finished his career with seven Pro Bowls and five All-Pro honors to his name. Despite playing one of the most underappreciated roles in the NFL, Tasker found a way to make his name known among fans everywhere.
