Yahoo Sports released a set of rankings for NFL fanbases and Buffalo Bills fans came in a bit lower than some may have expected.
It is hard to find fans as passionate as those who cheer on the Buffalo Bills every season. Or so I thought.
Yahoo Sports shared a set of rankings that went through and ranked NFL fanbases from 1-32 based on factors that considered how much fans spend on the team, how many social media followers the team has and how well the teams draw on the road.
So at first glance, it makes some sense why the Bills come in at No. 18 on the list.
The Bills play in a much smaller market than other teams so these guidelines aren’t exactly the most even.
Unless one’s team is ranked at the top, these lists are a great way to get fans of NFL teams riled up. I won’t even try to make a case for why Bills fans should be higher on this list, because it isn’t worth arguing when considering this was done using specific parameters that weren’t really fair to begin with.
This brings up the question of other ways fandom can be measured, although I’m not sure it is something that can be put into numeric rankings. How can I say a Bears fan is better than a Lions fan? Certainly not by social media followers.
As I said, these types of rankings are great for getting people angry. Maybe this will lead to a campaign to get the Bills millions of followers on social media and to become a powerhouse when it comes to gifs and graphics.

Or maybe Bills fans will just keep doing what they have always done, which is be passionate about the team and continue to have the best tailgates in all the land.
