The Buffalo Bills are set to have an open competition at quarterback, but one player may be the obvious option for the coaching staff.

The Buffalo Bills have three players competing for the title of starting quarterback and there are fans who support each individual candidate.

Those who support Nathan Peterman may be excited with all the noise surrounding the second-year player this offseason, but for now it still logically appears to be a competition between AJ McCarron and Josh Allen.

McCarron is the safe choice, while Allen is the risky choice. However, the risky choice may be the obvious one for the team in 2018.

An article went up on the site yesterday, which was also a debut article for our newest writer, that focused on reasons why Allen will open the season as the starting quarterback. For those fans who support Allen, all the reasons seem obvious.

Allen will enter training camp third on the depth chart, but that is normal. Sean McDermott isn’t going to have Allen open up as the starter in his first training camp. Yet that doesn’t mean the rookie can’t move up on the depth chart immediately.

Along with a case for Allen being the starter, here’s a look at the latest news surrounding the Bills in today’s edition of The Morning Charge.

Karas makes his site debut with a great look at why Allen will ultimately end the competition by winning the starting job. Be sure to check this out if you haven’t done so already. He makes some great points that are hard to argue with.

All the talk about the quarterbacks and the wide receivers is intriguing, but major questions still remain when it comes to the offensive line. McCarthy makes his case for why the line may not be a liability this season.
