Buffalo Bills: A post-minicamp look at the battles along the offensive line
By Daniel Hahn
Projected starter: Vlad Ducasse
Ducasse is a returning starter for the Buffalo Bills. Last year he won a training camp battle with John Miller to earn the start at right guard all season.
Ducasse is a veteran who has been around the league. Most importantly he has a strong history with Bills OL Coach Juan Castillo. The question for Ducasse will be how well he fits in this new offense. He separated himself in the zone blocking schemes of Rick Dennison. The potential power-running scheme coming in this year fits Miller, and also Wyatt Teller too.
Like Ryan Groy who serves as a valuable reserve, the same could be said about Ducasse who can sub for just about every offensive line position if needed.
The guard competition will feature the same on both sides of the ball. The best two out of the five of Ducasse, Miller, Groy, Teller, and Newhouse will most likely be the starters.
Name to watch: Wyatt Teller
He has the hair of Thor and while he may not be ideal to start on the left side, starting on the right side would help ease his transition to the NFL. The Bills have started late-round linemen in the past, most notably Seantrel Henderson.
