With the news of Terrell Owens deciding to skip his Hall of Fame induction, we decided to poll Buffalo Bills fans about the receiver’s time with the team.

Terrell Owens is not attending his Hall of Fame induction ceremony and Buffalo Bills fans are up in arms. Oh wait, that’s not true. It’s the writers who take their vote very, very seriously who are mad.

Owens being back in the news reminded me of his time in Buffalo, which included a great deal of hype and a key to the city. Wild times in Buffalo for sure.

To gauge how Bills fans remember his time in Buffalo, a poll was posted and the results were interesting:

I was pulling for the first choice to take the vote but alas, Bills fans remained rather neutral on this one.

Owens had an above-average season with the Bills in 2009, racking up 829 yards on 55 receptions. He also had five touchdowns. It was neither a great or terrible season, but about what one would expect from a then 36-year-old receiver.

My lasting memory of his tenure is just how interesting it was to see the way Bills fans reacted to his arrival. A star had landed at Buffalo, even though it was at the end of his career, and he was treated as such.

Those who called his tenure a circus may have thought things went a bit too far when he signed with the Bills.

Overall, Owens had an extremely tame tenure in Buffalo compared to some of his other stops during his career. He toned things down after a high-profile stint in Dallas and gave Bills fans a reason to get excited during what was a rough stretch of football.
