Tre’Davious White is entering his second season with the Buffalo Bills and heads into 2018 as one of the best corners in the NFL.

Buffalo Bills fans know Tre’Davious White is on his way to being an elite NFL cornerback. But for some reason, he has been absent from some offseason rankings of the best corners in the league.

Just some more motivation for the season.

While White has been absent from some lists, he showed up in a big way on a recent list made by Pro Football Focus. They published a list of the top 50 players in the NFL right now, and White showed up at No. 31.

From the article:

"While Lattimore got most of the attention, White actually earned the higher overall PFF grade (92.0 to 90.5) and coverage grade (91.6 to 90.5) among the two rookies. White allowed just 50.6 percent of passes thrown his way to be caught and became the No. 1 corner on the team on the eve of the season as the Bills traded away Ronald Darby and threw the rookie in at the deep end."

I have been saying all offseason that these types of lists don’t matter, but I shall reverse my stance in this case! Using more than just the “eye test,” the individuals at PFF graded White so highly in 2017 that he earned his way among the top names in the league.

This comes after Nate Burleson published a list on NFL.com that didn’t include White among the top 10 second-year players in the NFL. White “just missed the cut.” I remember seeing this headline and clicking on it, assuming White would be among the group.

The No. 31 overall ranking by PFF lets White know that his accomplishments and abilities aren’t completely ignored outside of Buffalo. Now it is time for him to back up all the talk and prove that he is indeed one of the 50 best players in the league. He will be in the spotlight on defense this season, so he will be given plenty of opportunities to show he is one of the elite corners in the game.

Bills players outside of LeSean McCoy earning national respect is rare these days, so it is nice to see White so high on the PFF list. Maybe Burleson will have to go back to the film room.
